Memorial service remembers Polish plane crash victims

Chicago's Polish community is commemorating the tragedy with a series of events.

Among them, a special mass for the victims held at St. Hyacinth's Basilica Sunday afternoon.

Ninety-six people were on board the airplane when it crashed near Smolensk, Russia, while trying to land in heavy fog.

The president of Poland, Lech Kaczynski, Poland's first lady and everyone else aboard was killed.

A commemorative plaque was blessed at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Niles.
