Carla Allen, 16, was a sophomore at Tilden High School. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at a red light late Monday night near the 1300 block of Sherman Park Drive. Police say someone inside another car drove up and started shooting.
Allen died on the scene. Another passenger was injured.
Allen's family is devastated.
"They took her life. They not only just killed her, they killed the whole family, you know, just grieving about her," said Mary Ann Taylor, Allen's grandmother.
Taylor says Allen wanted to become a nurse.
