Duckworth political consultant Pete Giangreco confirms that Duckworth is making calls to party leaders, elected officials and former supporters to hear their opinions about Duckworth making a run.
The seat is currently held by Republican Congressman Joe Walsh.
Duckworth previously ran for Congress in the 6th Congressional District and lost to current Congressman Peter Roskam.
Duckworth left her high-ranking position in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Thursday.
