Man accused of striking police officer with SUV

Police are searching for a man accused of striking a Chicago police officer with his SUV.

It happened Sunday night in the 100 block of South Kilpatrick in the Garfield Park neighborhood. Police say the SUV was pulled over for a traffic violation and the man refused to get out. He then pulled away, striking the officer who was on the passenger side. The officer hurt his left arm and was treated and released.

The vehicle fled the scene. Police are looking for a white jeep Grand cherokee with temporary license plates. The number is 834K396.
