18 charged in drug bust at 3 Aurora bars

Aurora police say a two-month investigation led to 18 people being charged with drug offenses at three bars.

The investigation, dubbed "Operation Summer Snow," culminated over the weekend when 12 of the 18 suspects were taken into custody. Six are still at large.

Police say the suspects charged sold cocaine, cannabis or ecstasy to undercover investigators at the End Zone Bar, 1650 N. Farnsworth Av., Joe's Cantina at 112 E. Galena Blvd., or Club Gala at 210 E. Galena.

Police say 335.42 grams of cocaine, 22.31 grams of cannabis, 2.08 grams of ecstasy and two vehicles were seized in the crackdown. The drugs had an estimated street value of approximately $34,000.

Eleven of the 12 offenders in custody are from Aurora. The 12th suspect is from Joliet. They range in age from 23-43.

The suspects still at large are all from Aurora. They are: Rosario Hernandez, 36; Jose Romero-Maravilla, 27; Roberto Dieppa, 25; Arturo Rios, 25; Tiburcio Becerra, 36; and Victor Garcia, 35.
