According to the Deb Kraulidis, who was helping to plan the event for the county's Tea Party Alliance, "We just got word that Michele Bachmann is not coming to the event. This is a mystery to us and we are very, very disappointed."
Kraulidis told ABC7 that Bachmann's campaign approached her and her husband about the hosting the event, which the campaign would pay for. The event was scheduled for 7 p.m. at Dinolfo's Banquets on 159th in Homer Glen.
Last year, Bachmann founded the Congressional Tea Party Caucus. She became the first woman to represent Minnesota in Congress when she was elected in 2006.
