November 8, 2011

According to researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago, bans on sodas in schools but not other sugar sweetened drinks, are not keeping kids away from high calorie beverages.

The study shows students gravitate toward sweetened fruit beverages and sports drinks instead.

Researchers say bans on all high calorie drinks at schools were more effective in helping kids make healthier choices. The study was published in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
