It happened Wednesday morning in the 5400-block of South Kenwood.
A 13-year-old girl tells police that a man pulled his car over and asked her if she wanted a ride. She said no and he drove away.
The man had black hair, a black and gray mustache, and black-rimmed glasses. He was driving a red, late-model four-door SUV.
Police remind parents that children should not walk alone.
