Great Lakes officials say the recruit is Christopher Walker, 19, of Kittaning, Pa. He died during his final standard physical fitness test while running in an indoor facility.
Officials believe Walker collapsed due to cardiac arrest, but a full autopsy will be conducted by the Lake County Coroner's Office Thursday.
Seaman Walker enlisted November 16 and was set to graduate next week.
