The governor announced the first 15 digital startup companies and new entrepreneurs to 1871.
The new tech center has the capacity to house up to 400 individuals or more than 100 start ups when it opens on may second.
During his 2012 state of the state address, the governor said the state is providing a $2.3 million investment in 1871 through the Illinois jobs now capital plan.
