Flight restrictions in place for NATO summit

No fly zones are in place for parts of McCormick Place and both airports with the exception of commercial and approved flights. According to the Federal Aviation Administration website, they will go into effect on Saturday May 19th at 7:30 p.m. The restrictions will remain in place until 7:30 the following Monday evening.

The Metra board meets Friday and officials are expected to announce their plans for service during the summit. Of particular concern is the Metra Electric Line with runs under McCormick Place where the summit will take place.
