Thieves steal jewelry in Sears smash-and-grab

The Chicago police are investigating an overnight smash-and-grab at a Sears store on the city's Northwest Side.

When police arrived on the scene in the 4700-block of West Irving Park, they found two doors had been smashed.

Once inside the store, the suspects broke into several display cases containing high-end jewelry. One tray of jewelry was dropped at the scene. The total value of the stolen jewelry could amount to several thousand dollars.

Sears had no comment on the robbery.
