No Kid Hungry Charity Dinner

September 15, 2012 6:05:39 AM PDT
September is Hunger Action Month, and it's a timely topic. The latest government report says nearly a quarter of all kids in Illinois face food insecurity .

On September 19, 2012, the "Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry" charity dinner takes place in Chicago to try and help change that. The Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign aims to end childhood hunger in America by 2015 through programs like Cooking Matters.

Chef Jennifer Paulson, Natural Food Chef and Culinary Consultant, The Prepared Kitchen, and Share Our Strength spokesperson, will emcee the charity event. She stopped by our ABC7 studio kitchen to tell us about the cause and to show us a healthy frittata recipe from the Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters Nutrition Education program in Chicago.
