The Anti-Defamation League kicked off commemoration of its 100th birthday Thursday in Chicago, where the organization was created.

Governor Pat Quinn was one of the lead speakers at the event.

"There are leaders in communities all across Illinois, and we have some here today that can make sure we take on hate, make sure we have laws against hate," Quinn said.

The ADL is dedicated to fighting all forms of bigotry and discrimination.

The three-day event will examine issues like immigration reform, prejudice in America and anti-Semitism.
