Major renovations underway at Chicago's City Hall

December 6, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The goal is to rehab the century-old building and reorganize office space by the end of 2013.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel's staff says building improvements will save the city $4 million annually and the renovation costs should be recouped in three years.

The City is currently leasing space for a number of agencies but the plan is to get those departments into city-owned office space as soon as possible.
