Snow Days Chicago at Navy Pier's Gateway Park

Watch snow sculpting teams from around the world create masterpieces out of massive blocks of snow, learn how to snowboard at the NEW interactive snowboarding experience and enjoy fun games, entertainment and activities!

The weekend-long event will feature snow sculpting competitions, snow games and activities for kids, a new interactive snowboarding experience, and much more!All weekend long snow sculptures masterfully carved from giant blocks of man-made snow will be on display in Gateway Park! In total, 15 professional teams from around the world and another 12 teams comprised of local CPS high school students will create sculptures with a wide variety of themes and designs. Come see these works of art during the day or illuminated at night as part of an enchanting light display! A master class exhibition team will also be here throughout the weekend carving a snow sculpture live to show visitors how the pros do it! Visit navypier.com for past sketches of the snow sculptures

NEW Interactive snowboarding experience
Kids can learn snowboarding basics from professionals on a special course that runs throughout Gateway Park. The event is free for kids and they must fit into a size 5 snowboard boot or smaller. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver in order for their child to participate.

Saturday, January 26: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, January 27: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Games for Kids
Hockey Buckets - Toss foam hockey pucks into buckets.
Winter Hula Hoop - Can you hula hoop dressed in your winter jackets and scarves?
Snowman Hat Toss - A winter version of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey"
Snowman Ring Toss - Can you throw the ring over the miniature snowman?
Snowball Spoon Race - Keep the "snowball" on the spoon as your race around an obstacle course.
Snow Painting - Paint a masterpiece on snow!
"Snow" Sculpture Carving - Carve your very own "snow" sculpture out of Styrofoam.
Snowshoe Experience - Ever try walking around on snowshoes? Here's your chance to experience it!
Bean Bag/Snowball Toss - Teams of two alternate tossing bean bags or snowballs at a target.
