Hadiya Pendleton's mother talks gun control

April 3, 2013 (NEW YORK)

Cleopatra Pendleton says her involvement is not a temporary thing and she talked about what she'll be doing.

"Get out in the communities and get moving," she said. "Network with the proper people, win some lose some, but continue to grow."

Pendleton and her husband are starting a foundation in their daughter's name to combat gun violence.

Hadiya Pendleton was shot to death in a south side park. Investigators say she was not the intended target.

Wednesday's discussion was organized by the National Action Network, founded by Al Sharpton.
