Luis Quizhpe was shot several times as he struggled with the robbers at his flag and souvenir store, located in the 2200-block of North Western Avenue, on April 9. The robbers were armed with guns; He had a bat.
A new mug shot was released Friday of one of the suspects, Cornell Mack. Mack, 53, is charged with attempted first degree murder, armed robbery and discharge of a firearm.
In newly released surveillance video, the gunman, who is still on the loose, grabs the store owner's brother-in-law and fires his gun twice. He then tosses the brother-in-law to the ground. Prosecutors say a man they identify as Mack is then heard yelling, "You hit me. . . Kill him!"
Officials say Mack was shot by his alleged accomplice during the chaos. Police are still looking for that second suspect.
A second camera angle from behind the counter shows the man prosecutors say is Mack limping through the store.
Chicago police are still investigating. Quizhpe is recovering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
