Mayor Rahm Emanuel's tax return made public

It shows he had an adjusted gross income of more than $373,000 on total income of $409,000. He paid federal income taxes of more than $77,000.

That works out to a tax rate of about 21 percent.

More than $204,000 came from his salary as mayor, with most of the rest from investments. The Emanuels gave more than $16,000 to charity.

This is the first time Emanuel has made his tax returns public since he became mayor.
