Fewer people expected to travel this July 4th than in 2012, AAA says

The Fourth of July holiday is Thursday and AAA is estimating fewer people will travel 50 miles or more from home.

This year, 40.8 million people are expected to travel, which is down from 41.1 million who traveled last year.

The anticipated decline is due to a shorter holiday period. The holiday falls on Thursday this year compared to last year, when the fourth fell on a Wednesday.
