A Chicago police sergeant has pleaded guilty to stealing drugs from a courier in a South Side public housing complex.

After a court appearance last year, Ronald Watts, 50, ran away from an ABC7 photographer.

Watts was scheduled to go on trial next week.

He faces up to 21 months in prison.

Watts and his partner were arrested last year after prosecutors say they stole drug money from a courier who was working as an FBI informant.
