More than a year after he was seriously wounded in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting a young man finally finishes his journey that was cut short by the tragedy.

Last summer Stephen Barton was biking cross-country with his friend when the two decided to stop in Aurora to see a movie.

Someone opened fire in the theater, killing 12 people and wounding 82, including Barton.

He cut his bike trip short because of his injuries.

But Sunday he left Aurora, Colorado to finish his trip.

"It's a huge sense of closure," he said. "I'm excited to get on the road and just leave the town behind and head west. I can't wait to ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, I can't wait to see the Pacific Ocean. That's going to be a huge piece of closure in all this."

Barton is also spreading the word on gun violence, starring in a PSA to stop gun violence.
