The woman jumped out of the van on 21st Avenue between Georgia and Virginia streets and the driver took off with her boyfriend still inside.
His body was found later on the side of the road on the 3200-block of Georgia Street.
The woman was recovering in a Chicago hospital Monday. Her condition was not known.
Police are still looking for a white 1999 Chrysler minivan with Indiana license plate OFP293.
