Charles Watkins, 31, of the 500 block of North Lawler Avenue, was found on the northbound tracks at the Pulaski station, 4000 W. Lake St, at 6:47 a.m., authorities said.
An autopsy to determine cause and manner of death is scheduled for Sunday.
Northbound trains were not moving for more than two hours between the Central and California stations while the body was removed. By 9:10 a.m., all northbound trains were moving with residual delays, the CTA said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
