Chicago's Streets and Sanitation Department launched an ''aggressive spring cleaning plan'' to remove debris from city streets and curbs following a harsh winter.

Crews will pick up litter and other objects along curb lanes while street sweeping trucks hit the main thoroughfares.

Tuesday, April 1 marks the first day of the 2014 Street Sweeping season. That means residents need to keep an eye out for the temporary parking restrictions. They're posted the day before, according to a Streets and Sans release. Other streets have a permanent signs with information about once-a-week street sweeping.

The full street sweeping schedule is posted at cityofchicago.org.
