Book returned to Barrington HS library 47 years late

April 4, 2014 (BARRINGTON, Ill.)

Shelli Traner Graves mailed back a copy of "The History of Nations" to Barrington High School. Tucked inside the front cover was a handwritten note from Traner Graves with the following message:

"Barrington High School Library,
I found this book when going through some of my mother's things. Just wanted to return it. Thank you."

In the year 1967, the Barrington High School Library charged 2 cents per day for overdue fines, the release said. Although Traner Graves did not include money when returning the book, her fine would have been $343, the release said.
