Metra: Broken rail at Union Station repaired, trains leaving as scheduled

BNSF, Southwest Service and Heritage Corridor passengers encountered platform changes during the early evening Monday rush hour.

Three tracks were out of service at Union Station after a rail broke on the south side of the station, impacting the Monday.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, the broken tracks had been repaired and Metra said trains were leaving as scheduled.

BNSF, Southwest Service and Heritage Corridor passengers encountered platform changes during the early evening Monday rush hour. There were no delays or cancellations due to the broken rail.
