A University of Illinois at Chicago student is now in federal custody in connection with a series of threats sent right after the Northern Illinois shootings.

Twenty-four-year old Mahtab Shirani now faces a federal charge in some e-mail threats sent to three UIC administrators. Last weekend, Shirani was charged in Cook County with felony disorderly conduct in the case. She is also charged with making threats through use of interstate commerce.

Shirani is free on bond.
