Delta to charge $50 to check second bag

The airline is raising baggage fees to help offset fuel costs beginning Aug. 5

The nation's third largest carrier will now charge $50 each way to check a second bag for domestic travel, which rose from $25 per bag.

The fee for checking a third bag will increase to $125 each way.

Fees for specialty items like surf boards or ski equipment will also increase.
