Council honors fallen officer

The Chicago City Council honored officer Richard Francis, who was killed earlier this month.Several aldermen spoke of his sacrifice during Wednesday's council meeting. They also noted his devotion to both the city and to his family.

A number of loved ones and fellow officers were present for the tribute.

Francis served on the Chicago Police Department for 27 years. He was killed earlier this month while responding to a disturbance on a CTA bus.

Forty-five-year-old Robin Johnson has been charged with his murder.
