Bar Association evaluates judicial candidates

CHICAGO The CBA's Judicial Evaluation Committee (JEC) evaluated both sitting judges and newcomers.

JEC, which is made up of about 200 lawyers, conducted peer reviews in the evaluations, rating the judicial candidates as either highly qualified, qualified or not recommended.

In the findings, 28 of the 31 candidates seeking election to Circuit Court positions were evaluated. Four were ranked 'highly qualified,' 22 were 'qualified' and two were 'not recommended.'
