3-year-old missing for 7 hours is found

CHICAGO Surveillance video showed the girl leaving a CVS drug store where her parents were shopping near the intersection of Pulaski and Milwaukee.

Police said they found the little girl at about 9:30 p.m. after a neighbor who called them reported seeing her in the alley in the 4400-block of West Wellington. That is several blocks away from the location where she was last seen shortly before 3 p.m.

The officers wrapped the 3-year-old girl in a blanket and took her to an ambulance. They say she seems to be in very good condition. They were, however, going to get her checked out at Children's Memorial Hospital.

Cameras inside the CVS caught surveillance pictures of the girl walking outside with a woman. Police are still looking for that woman who they say is seen in those pictures.

"There was absolutely a woman that walked with her. The investigation will continue to try to identify that individual and to try to find out what happened from the time the child left the CVS with that individual to the time the child was finally found in the alley," said Commander Michael Mealer, Chicago Police Department.

Police are hoping to question the woman seen in the video. They say that she has dark skin, dark hair, was wearing a white scrunchy in her hair, and also wearing a white jacket and burgundy or maroon pants.
