Rep. Peter Roskam could try for Senate

A suburban congressman says he may try for the 2010 Republican nomination for U.S. senator.U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam is a guest on ABC7's Newsviews this Sunday.

If Roskam runs, he'll be a candidate in the GOP primary next February for the seat now held by Democrat Roland Burris.

"It's still early in a way, but it's something to take a serious look at," Roskam tells ABC7's Linda Yu. "I think anybody who's gonna put a good race together, Linda, has to have that together by the spring, in order to put the political operation into place, to begin getting around the state. "
