Body found 2 days after fire is struck

A body was found on Wednesday in the basement of a Chicago home, two days after firefighters put out a fire there.A fire department spokesperson says firefighters knew a person was in the home while they were battling the blaze in the 3500-block of West Polk Street.

Although the fire was struck on Monday, a body was not discovered until Wednesday.

The victim's identity has yet to be released.
