ComEd to lower electricity rates in Ill.

May 2, 2009 ComEd says it will lower electric rates in June, after the company experienced a dramatic drop in the cost of electricity due to low demand during the economic downturn.

ComEd estimates a 7.5 percent decrease in residents' bills, which means a decrease of about $6.36 in an average monthly bill.

ComEd provides service to nearly 4 million customers across northern Illinois.
