A conductor on the South Shore commuter train line in northwest Indiana is charged with battery after he allegedly threw a passenger off a train. Gregory Beach of Valparaiso is accused of physically removing the passenger at the stop in Chesterton back on march 28th.

Porter County prosecutors say the passenger lost a tooth and suffered cuts and abrasions in the incident.

South Shore train officials are conducting an internal investigation into the matter and Beach could face disciplinary action.
