Identity affects women more than men

Identity fraud affects more women then men, according to a fraud protection provider that surveyed more than 800 US households. Twenty-eight percent of the women surveyed had been victims of identity fraud, compared to 21 percent of men.

Another study in February by a research group had similar findings.

The latest survey also found that it takes women longer to restore their identities, but they are also more likely to alter their behavior after becoming a victim.
