RTA could face more cuts

June 24, 2009 When the Regional Transportation Authority board meets Thursday, it's expected to consider cuts totaling more than $61 million. The Tribune reports that transit officials blame a deepening drop in sales-tax revenues for the move.

The cuts would follow a round of belt tightening earlier this year, also because of a drop in tax revenues.
