9,000 join Chicago's "Late Ride"

Thousands of people spent the night touring the city of Chicago on their bicycles. About 9,000 enthusiastic bikers turned out for the McDonald's "Late Ride."The midnight to sunrise ride started at Buckingham Fountain.

The 25-mile route treks through Greektown, up along the northwest side, and back to Buckingham Fountain by 6 Sunday morning.

Organizers say it's a great way for people to see the best of Chicago.

There were contests and prizes given for the best lit bike and the best decorated helmet.

"Late Ride" benefits friends of the parks.
