Vets increasingly diagnosed with PTSD

July 16, 2009 A survey of the records of soldiers getting VA health care shows that since the start of the Iraq war there has been a dramatic increase in the number of veterans with mental health diagnoses. The most common: post traumatic stress disorder, with the greatest risk among vets younger than 25, and those who had faced more combat.

This study was conducted by researchers at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.
