Bicyclists race in Chicago Criterium

A cycling event best described as 'Nascar racing for bikes' returned Sunday for its second year.Some of the cycling world's elite racers took part in Chicago Criterium, an all-day event in Grant Park.

Chicago Criterium consists of a series of races during which 10 riders at a time whip around a closed circuit loop. The course is slightly more than one mile long and includes fast straight-aways and tight 90-degree turns.

The race was named the number one criterium bike race in the United States.
