Weight gain linked to prostate cancer

September 2, 2009 Researchers studied a group of men from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Findings show that young men who gain weight are more at risk of developing prostate cancer when they get older.

Also, Japanese men were at a slightly lower risk of cancer even if they gained weight. Black men were at risk for a less serious form of the disease than white men.

This study appears in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.
