Study: Active kids fall asleep faster

September 18, 2009 A new study finds, the more activity children get, the faster they'll drop off to sleep.

The study of almost 600 7-year-olds found that children who spent more time in sedentary activities took longer to actually fall asleep after they went to bed.

The study in the Archives of Disease in Childhood found 1 hour of vigorous activity reduced the time to fall asleep by almost 6 minutes. They also discovered those children were more likely to stay asleep longer.
