Some airlines tack on holiday surcharge

Four U.S. airlines have added a surcharge for three busy travel days during the holiday season.American, United, US Airways and Delta are tacking on a $10 surcharge for travel on November 29th which is the Sunday after Thanksgiving and for flights on January 2nd and January 3rd.

All three dates are heavy travel days for the airlines.

The airlines are calling the fee a fuel surcharge.
