Fire truck cab arrives at children's hospital site

October 15, 2009 (CHICAGO) On Thursday a custom-designed fire truck cab arrived at the site of the hospital going up on East Chicago Avenue.

Hospital and fire department leaders say the cab is a symbol of the partnership between their operations. That partnership helped save the life of 9-year-old Grace Bracken. Chicago firefighters rushed her to Children's Memorial Hospital when she suffered a sudden stroke.

"I am so glad ... for the hospital," said Grace Bracken, former Children's Memorial patient.

The cab will be handicapped-accessible and it will feature educational interactive games and activities for patients.
