Exercise shown to boost girls' grades

Vigorous physical activity may do wonders for a school girl's grades. A new study in the Journal of Pediatrics found vigorous activity such as soccer, running, tennis and basketball usually meant young girls did better in school. That's even if they weren't physically fit.

Scientists are still trying to figure out why this is true.

In boys, however, only fitness levels appeared linked with academic achievement.
