The Malcolm X festival is billed as the nation's largest Kwanzaa celebration in any college or university. The seven-day event runs through New Year's day.
Kwanzaa celebrates African American heritage, unity, and culture. Each day of Kwanzaa stands for a principle.
The events are open to the public at no charge.
In addition to entertainment, the program includes an African marketplace, where shoppers can buy traditional clothing, jewelry, and other products, and support local merchants.
