Police say he drove along the sidewalk and cut across some vacant lots for a couple blocks before police finally caught up with him.
Police say the driver then tried to hit officers with his car, so police shot him. The 31-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday morning in critical condition.
Investigators say they found drugs inside the suspect's car. Charges are pending against the man.
