Governor Quinn will have a running mate by the end of the month. On March 27th Democratic Party officials will vote for a new candidate for lieutenant governor.

Scott Lee Cohen, a Chicago pawnbroker, won the nomination in the primary, but stepped down following revelations about his personal life.

More than 220 people have submitted applications for the job on a Web site set by the Democratic Party.

Four hearings to interview prospective candidates will be held a week from Saturday in Chicago, Hoffman Estates, Bolingbrook and Springfield.
