Daley seeks to increase lakefront liquor licenses

Mayor Daley wants to increase the liquor licenses along the city's lakefront by more than double.

He is introducing a proposal that would add 13 new liquor licenses to the 12 already allowed on lakefront park district land.

Some of the areas where beer and liquor would be sold include the North Rose Garden at Buckingham fountain, the Montrose beach house and the DuSable harbor building.

The proposed ordinance will be sent to the city council's license committee for consideration.
